Cranleigh Show and all that...

So now we've just held the 2008 Cranleigh Show in aid of Greyhound Rescue at the Cranleigh Show Ground. The days before had been terrible weather, rain, rain and more rain - but nothing stopped this year's show and on the show day Sunday September 7th the rain held off and once again the crowds turned up. Once again it was an incredible show, one of the biggest sales you could ever imagine with a marvellous collection of items of every description - clothing, china, jewellery, toys, books, electrical, and every other thing you could possibly think of. Apart from this there was an auction, in the arena many of the dogs currently in the kennels were paraded, you could even see how fast your greyhound could run - anything up to 38mph!

The following Saturday 13th September was the GIANT JUMBLE SALE and it was good to see the long queue waiting to rush in at the stroke of 11am. The sale went well and all the money raised goes towards the large amount needed to maintain the Sun Valley Kennels and to continue the marvellous work - it is totally dependent on charity.

Whether you have a greyhound yourself or not it's an event well worth coming to - make a note in your diary for this time next year. We need your help and you never know - you might well decide a greyhound is just the companion you need.
